Me and My Family

My husband Jesse and I live in Michigan with our three children (ages 17, 8, and 6), two dogs, and one rather fat, lazy cat named Steve. I have a degree in counseling psychology and have experience working with everything from addiction treatment to juvenile sex offender rehabilitation. Primarily my work focused on child and adolescent mental health and trauma treatment through both clinical and child sexual abuse programs. In both settings, I specialized in family counseling, where I developed a passion for helping parents work through difficult situations with their children.

More important than what’s on my resume, I’m also a parent of a 17-year-old and the wife of a recovering addict. Personal experience has been a greater teacher to me than any textbook or on-the-job experience. Despite all of our ups and downs I can honestly say that our 10 years together have been the most exciting time of my life. I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
